About Immigrant Insider
Updated October 25, 2026
Clear guidance for every step forward.
Immigrant Insider is an independent English-language publication helping immigrants, families, students and people preparing U.S. immigration documents understand the process in front of them. We bring explanations, practical checklists and original sources into one readable reference.
Built around your next question
A form number rarely explains the whole task. A reader may need to understand who handles a request, which record supports it and what happens at the next stage. Our guides connect immigration pathways with forms, evidence, education records, legal-help research and document translation.
We distinguish Department of State visa issuance, CBP admission, USCIS benefits and immigration court proceedings. We also explain where a school, licensing body, registry or other institution sets its own document requirement. This helps readers find the institution responsible for the answer.
Useful information without an account
You can read guides, search topics, compare process stages and use editorial checklists for free. Checklists can be marked in the page, downloaded as an interactive PDF or printed. They help organize records and questions; the site does not file applications, store a personal case file or submit checklist answers to an agency.
Audience measurement helps us understand which guides and tools readers use. It runs automatically on the production site unless turned off in Privacy settings or blocked by a browser privacy signal. Reading, search and checklists remain available when analytics is off. Our Privacy Notice explains the information involved.
Sources and editorial responsibility
Guides are credited to the Immigrant Insider editorial desk. A named reviewer is credited when one is associated with the guide. Source links and check dates show where a statement comes from, and correction links make it possible to identify an outdated detail. A source-check date describes that check; it is not a promise that an institution has kept every requirement unchanged since then.
Our source hierarchy starts with the agency or institution that owns a requirement. A provider's published service information is attributed to that provider. A professional profile connects readers with the practice and relevant licensing resources. We do not invent personal success stories, ratings or professional credentials.
Information for preparation
Immigrant Insider is not a government agency or a law firm. Reading a guide or contacting the publication does not create legal representation. Personal eligibility, deadlines, departures, court matters and filing choices may require a qualified attorney or authorized representative who can examine the complete circumstances.
