Immigrant Insider
Terms of Use
Updated October 25, 2026
These terms explain how to use Immigrant Insider and its free editorial tools.
The publication and its purpose
These Terms of Use apply to immigrantinsider.com, its guides and the editorial tools provided on the site. Immigrant Insider publishes general information about U.S. immigration processes and related records. It does not act as a government agency, represent readers or provide an individualized legal, medical, financial or credential-evaluation service.
Using the guides and checklists
You may read, search, save and print guides for personal reference. You may download and use the publication's checklists to organize your own preparation. You may share links and brief attributed excerpts that identify Immigrant Insider and link to the original guide. For republication of an entire article, a collection or substantial original material, contact hello@immigrantinsider.com to discuss permission.
Government forms and third-party source material remain subject to their own applicable terms and status. An editorial checklist is not an official form. Use the form and filing instructions supplied by the responsible institution when submitting an application.
Information changes
Fees, forms, filing methods, agency guidance and provider services can change. Read a guide's source dates and follow the original institution for current instructions. A summary does not replace the full requirement, and a checklist does not decide which evidence is sufficient for an individual matter. The publication does not promise a visa, benefit, admission, license or other outcome.
Your use of the tools
The current site does not require a reader account. Search is for editorial topics, not private case records. Checklist selections stay in the open page, and a downloaded file is saved through your browser. The tools do not submit an application, contact an agency, preserve a deadline or monitor a case for you. Keep your official records and any independently required reminders.
Responsible access and attribution
Use the site without disrupting its availability or security. Do not use its name, logo or content to impersonate the publication or a government authority, misrepresent an official endorsement, distribute malicious material or present an altered guide as our current original. When sharing an excerpt, preserve its context and the source link.
Other websites and services
Source and provider links lead to independent organizations. Their services, fees, contracts and privacy practices are their responsibility. A service order or professional engagement is arranged directly with that organization. A link does not turn Immigrant Insider into the provider of the service or guarantee the organization's decision or performance.
Privacy and analytics settings
The Privacy Notice describes hosting, browser tools, correspondence and audience measurement. Production analytics starts automatically unless a saved opt-out, Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal keeps it off. You can turn it off through Privacy settings in the footer; the editorial tools remain available with either setting. Please keep personal case information out of search fields and editorial messages.
Availability, updates and questions
Guides and features may be updated, reorganized or removed as the publication develops. These terms may also change; the date above identifies the current version. For permission requests, concerns about site use or a correction, email hello@immigrantinsider.com. Read the Privacy Notice for information about the site's tools and correspondence.
