How do I distinguish EOIR-33/IC from EOIR-33/BIA and USCIS address reporting?
EOIR-33/IC concerns contact information in immigration-court cases, while EOIR-33/BIA concerns cases before the Board of Immigration Appeals. USCIS address reporting is separate. Identify the actual forum and current case record before using the applicable instructions, and keep submission confirmation distinct from a hearing-location change.

Open the official form pageIdentify the forum before selecting the form
EOIR’s current forms page distinguishes the immigration court and the Board of Immigration Appeals versions of EOIR-33. An individual can also have records with USCIS or other institutions. A shared address does not make those reporting systems a single process.
Start from the actual hearing notice or appeal correspondence to identify the forum in which the matter is pending. Do not select a court simply because it is closest to a new home. A change in contact information and a request affecting the place of proceedings are different questions.
Keep every affected person and matter visible
A family may have several case records. Build a private reporting log that identifies the affected person, forum, instruction and actual confirmation. Do not mark a whole household updated based only on one saved form or one person’s submission.
Read the current submission and service instructions
EOIR’s Respondent Access page provides contact-change forms for the listed forums and distinguishes practitioner use of ECAS. The applicable form’s complete instructions still matter. This guide does not reproduce a universal deadline or claim that downloading a completed form means the submission was made.
Preserve the confirmation and later notice record
Store the actual submission record privately with later hearing or appeal correspondence. Review discrepancies promptly through the appropriate official process. The free checklist does not send a change, alter a hearing location, update USCIS or guarantee that a notice will arrive.
Track confirmation by forum rather than by moving date
A moving date can be shared across several reporting tasks, but each forum may have its own submission and confirmation record. Keep those references independently visible and do not infer that one successful update completed every other task. Later correspondence should be checked against the actual case context. An address organizer cannot monitor hearings or promise that every notice reaches the reader.
